Bio & Coding History

I am a Grade 7 student that enjoys reading books. I am a quiet person, and don't always talk or converse with others. I also enjoy listening to and playing music, as it allows me to relax and have fun.

I've been learning how to code in the Code Meets World series for more than a year now. We've learned about the basics of HTML, CSS, and Javascript, and have also looked into some things like data visualization and internet safety. Looking back at it, it's really unbelieveable how fast time flies.

I really am grateful for the CMW series because if I never went through it, then I never would have discovered coding in the first place. I realize now that it is actually one of the most important aspects of this modern generation, which is why I enjoy it so much today.

Module 1

Portfolio

This was the first ever project I made using HTML and CSS. It may not be as impressive as these other projects, but it still lit the spark in my coding journey.

Wikipedia Page - Nuclear Energy

This is another Wikipedia webpage, but this time about nuclear energy, which would also be a very important invention if it actually worked properly. My first exposure with Javascript was also in this project through a simple dark mode function.

Javascript DJ 👍

The Javascript DJ project was the actual first project I had using Javascript. It was a new experience, but it all eventually payed off in the end as this soundboard works decently well. Try all of the different sounds by clicking here!

Choose Your Own Adventure 👍

A Choose Your Own Adventure Story never gets old, but to have it in a webpage with Javascript makes it even cooler. For me, I think that this project was the best out of everything else we did, so make sure to check it out here. There are four different endings, which can either be good or bad. Choose carefully!

Role Model Resume

This is a webpage about the very inspiring Sam Berns. Even if he unfortunately passed away a few years ago, he still will be one of the best inspirations for me in my life. Learn more about him by clicking here!

Phaser Game 👍

The first half of Module 3 was pretty fun and exciting for me because of the Phaser library. This is the final product of this first half of the module, which is a fun platformer game with obstables and a basic objective.

Choropleth Map - Singaopre

This project introduced me to data visualization, which is actually quite important especially in this modern age of technology. A map of Singapore and a few extra details can be viewed here.

Choropleth Map - Japan

At the end of Module 3, I created another choropleth map about Japan this time around. It is pretty much identical to the other map, but it still is quite nice to look at. Check it out by clicking here!
